I have given lectures a few times in my life but this one was special. Presenting what you do for a living to young people and laying bare certain truths about being an Entrepreneur in the Arts can change their perspective.
This is what happened on the 21st October 2022. I gave a presentation to the 2022 Entrepreneurship Class at the Polytechnic Sixth Form Government School. My lecture was ‘Being and Entrepreneur in the Caribbean’. It was a great opportunity to drop some of my personal experiences in running a company, especially in the Arts, in Trinidad and Tobago.
I presented a few real-life cases that happend to me to gain the knowledge that I have now. This includes having my Company misrepresented in an international Animation Magazine. I presented marketing strategies to be seen by prospective clients and what I listen to for ideas and motivation. and other aspects of staying in the Film Composer and Sound Design industries.

It was great and I answered a wide range of questions from the students. Many thanks goes to Ana Cedeno for setting this up and to Cindy Raphael for facilitating her class for the event.
At the end of the lecture I received a ‘Thank You’ card from one of the students during his Vote of Thanks.
